Guidelines & Policies Of The Hereford Paranormal GroupReviewed in 20101) Permanent members are asked to attend at least 8 investigations per year. Unless under exceptional circumstances members will always be informed 4 weeks prior to the investigation, where possible, the venue and date details. You will be given a deadline to indicate whether you can attend this investigation. If you miss this deadline, your place will be offered to a reserve member. There will be no flexibility on this to be fair to the reserve team. If you have responded indicating you can attend, you will then be sent a further email with the specific location details. Only you are responsible for checking your emails and managing your time. (Kept & Amended) 2) Whilst attending an investigation you must always follow the instruction of the leaders of the HPG. Breaks will be allocated throughout the investigation and you will be, from July 2010, be told how long each break will last for. (Kept & Amended)3) You must always be respectful to others beliefs and show the highest respect to the owners/managers of the property and their belongings. Belief also includes a sceptical approach offering provable explanations. The HPG continue to not to dictate what a persons beliefs are with regards to the subject of Orbs. However, because of the vast array of non-paranormal explanations for them, orbs will not be considered as firm evidence of the paranormal. (Kept and Amended) 4) There is no set time for an investigation finishing. If you know you are only able to attend an investigation for part please consider offering your opportunity to a member of the reserve team. From July 2010 we will always be setting aside a time to allow people to leave early. However, if you choose to stay after this time, we will expect you to stay for the remaining duration. (Kept and Amended) 5) No alcohol or substances that can affect clarity of thought and decision making, shall be consumed prior to or during the investigation. We appreciate that not all teams operate this policy, but it is a requirement of the HPG. If this is found to have happened with a member of the HPG, you will be asked to leave the investigation on that occasion. (Kept and Amended) 6) Unless permission is given in advance, only HPG equipment should be used on an investigation. All equipment used must be returned. This includes all types of camera. A list of equipment used will be made and checked at the end of the evening. Mobile phones should be switched off prior to the investigation starting. If there is a reason you need to keep your phone on, please leave it in a locked vehicle, which you can regularly check during break times. (Kept and Amended)7) If a location chooses to operate its confidential clause then any member failing to respect this will instantly be dismissed from the group. The confidential clause usually applies to a location that would like its name kept from the public. Please do not discuss the venue, even without the confidential clause, in any public arena prior to the investigation. (Kept)8) You are responsible for ensuring you arrive on time to a location. Should you require directions please contact the Locations Co-ordinator or Leader who emailed you the initial details. (Kept) 9) Be prepared for constructive feedback and flexibility. All permanent members are expected to attend, with reasonable notice, any training sessions that may be offered. They are also expected to undertake the responsibilities associated with their roles. (Kept and Amended).10) We will never invite persons under 18 years of age on an investigation unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. We do not allow those under the age of 16 on any investigation unless they are residing at the location being investigated. (Kept and Amended)11) Be prepared to work that involves working in partnership with our local/national media and other paranormal groups and organisations. (Kept and Amended)12) Be expected to be honest and true in your reports and actions at all times. (Kept and Amended) 13) You must submit a brief medical questionnaire to the Welfare Co-ordinator prior to joining the group and ensure this is updated should your personal situation change. This also will have emergency contact numbers should they be required. (Kept and Amended)14) If you are a member of external existing Team or Organisation based in Herefordshire then you would only be accepted as a reserve member. (Kept and Amended)15) Some investigations that may require a fee due to the venue charging will, from July 2010, always require a non-refundable deposit from each permanent team member attending. The remaining money owing for attendance would be settled on the night of the investigation itself. Failure to pay your deposit before the deadline date will mean that your opportunity will be offered to a member of the reserve team. (New)16) Investigations will be aimed to be booked on the last Friday/Saturday of the month. This will be only changed if under the request of the owner/manager associated with the venue being investigated. No member should request or ask for a date to change to suit their personal commitments. (Kept and Amended)Rules and guidelines are subject to being amended and added to at the leaders discretion.
